Employee Recognition and Award Programs (McHenry and Science & Engineering)

The UC Santa Cruz Library values its outstanding staff employees and offers recognition of achievements above and beyond their normal work expectations through two award programs--one for staff, and one for student employees. Awards are given in the form of cash and amounts vary for each program. We welcome your nomination of a library employee through these programs and encourage you to read the guidelines and nomination documents associated with each program. If you need additional information, you may call the Library Office at (831) 459-2076.

The University Library Local Awards Program

Local Awards are cash awards designed to acknowledge and reward individual efforts in a timely fashion. These efforts must have contributed significantly to librarywide goals and had a measurable impact on improved library or unit operations. The spirit of the program is to provide a small monetary award for a significant accomplishment and recognize these  performances as quickly as possible. The program is ongoing, but is not active during the months of July, August, and December. Nominations may be submitted at any time during the year with the exception of the aforementioned months.

The Student Employee Recognition Award Program (SERAP) is designed to recognize outstanding student employee performance. The University Library nomination process runs concurrently with the campus call for above and beyond student performance nominations. The nomination process for the Student Employee Recognition Award Program in the library usually begins in February every year.
